Fwd: ICD - 10 TRANSITION

All,

Please see the message and friendly reminder below from Bob Schultz – Director of Billing and Operations.
(His goal is to make sure all claims get submitted in a timely manner so that you get paid :)

He is the best person to ask further questions on this topic.

Thanks,

We are in the process of contacting all of our referral sources in preparation for the ICD-10 transition. We ask that you contact all of your physicians to confirm they are ready for this transition beginning October 1st, 2015. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that whatever the doctors specialty is that when sending us orders we will need the NEW ICD-10 code (Diagnosis Code) in order to bill Medicare and Commercial payers. Without the new code we will not be able to submit claims. This will impact or Delay your sales and commissions, so please be speaking with your accounts.  (I am sure you are not the only person telling them about this).

As an example if your doctor does Knee replacements and see's patients for Osteoarthritis and now typically uses ICD-9 code 715.16, 715.36 or other similar OA codes Accurate Medical needs to know what the NEW corresponding ICD-10 they will be using. IT IS THE DOCTORS RESPONSIBILITY TO LET US KNOW, they are seeing and diagnosing the patient not us.   Our coding for billing needs to match what the doctor is using when he bills.

Thank you for your assistance with this transition as we continue to service your patient's needs. Should you have any questions call or email me.

Respectfully,

Bob Schultz   |  Director of Medical Billing & Operations
